Better Writing Through Assessment Tools

Communication is a simple process. I have an idea in my head that I want to get into yours. So, I speak. When I’m done you can ask questions if you are not clear as to what my message is. Even if you don’t speak, I get information about your understanding by reading your body language. If I use effective feedback skills, I can be sure that the message I sent is the message you received. However, what if I try to communicate by writing to you? Now the critical feedback loop that works in face-to-face communication is gone? How can I be sure that the message I sent is the message you got? Obviously, I need to be an effective writer.
