Why do we Triage?

In our industry, there are so many events that can be defined as non-conformances there is no way we could possibly perform root cause analysis and find a corrective action for each event. This online micro-training module relates triage in an emergency medical setting to your CAPA system. Using a triage approach to assign degrees of urgency to nonconformance can help eliminate “death by CAPA” when facing many non-conformances. 

This training is done through epath, the PathWise online learning management system. ePath is for targeted knowledge-based learning. Our web based training focuses on terms, definitions, regulations and expectations.

After taking this course learners will be able to:

 

  • Define what triage means in regards to a CAPA system.
  • Explain why a triage should be performed in a CAPA system.
  • Assess and rank quality events to determine if a root-cause analysis is required.
